Meet the Librarian

Ms. Amanda Bennett

Ms. Bennett never set out to become a librarian—it was a career she discovered along the way. She served as a student worker while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at the University of Mississippi. After graduating in 2001, she remained at the university as a member of staff at the J.D. Williams Library.

In 2015, she earned her teaching certification through the Teach Mississippi Institute and joined Della Davidson Elementary as the school librarian the following year. She went on to earn a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2019 and achieved National Board Certification in 2024.

When Ms. Bennett was in grades 2-3, some of her favorite books were The Babysitter's Club series, Ralph S. Mouse, and the Little House on the Prairie series.
